Characteristics

Bushy suffrutex, 0.2-0.5 m high; stems many, diffusely spreading, woody below, flexuous, angular, ± densely appressed strigose. Stipules (1.0)1.5-3.5 mm long, filiform. Leaves pinnately (3)5-7-foliolate, rachis (1)3-10 mm long; petioles (1)2-4 mm long; stipellae absent. Terminal leaflet (2)3-7 x 1.5-4.5 mm, elliptic to oblanceolate, apex ± rounded, appressed, evenly strigose above, more densely and coarsely strigose with differently sized hairs below. Inflorescences of (0.7)1.0-35.0(55.0) mm long, laxly (1)2-4(8)-flowered racemes; peduncle 4-17(242) mm long; pedicels 1.0-1.5 mm long. Flowers 4.0-4.5 mm long, carmine-red; calyx 2.5-3.5 mm long, ± densely strigose; lobes lanceolate; standard dorsal surface hyaline strigose, keel apex obtuse. Stamens 3.0-3.5 mm long. Flowering time Aug.-Jan. Pod 7-12 x 1.5 mm, straight, cylindrical, hyaline strigose.
