Characteristics

Stems up to 35 cm or perhaps more in length, probably decumbent, 1.5-2 mm thick, slightly compressed-terete, branching, with a closely adpressed silky pubescence and a sprinkling of loose hairs on the green part. Leaves 1.5-5.5 cm long; leaflets 5-11, the lateral opposite in 2-5 pairs, 6-18 mm long, 2-4.5 mm broad, narrowly oblong or lanceolate, subacute or obtuse, apiculate, adpressed-pubescent on both sides, and with black or brown tufts of minute glands in their axils. Racemes 7-10 cm long, much longer than the leaves, somewhat laxly many-flowered. Calyx-lobes 5-6 mm long, subulate. Corolla 12-14 mm long, purple; keel 2-2.5 mm deep; standard with a white adpressed silky pubescence on the back.
