Characteristics

Like I. heterophylla but stems decumbent, often densely leaved, spreading greyish strigose to hirsute. Stipules up to 5 x 0.5 mm, lanceolate to subulate, largely spreading or deflexed (not arching recurved and often appearing ‘hooked’ as in I. heterophylla). Terminal leaflet broadly obovate, apex rounded to truncate, less often obtuse. Inflorescences of 30-100(120) mm long racemes, rounded or expanding broadly at tips (not mostly tapering, tail-like as in I. heterophylla), including a peduncle 10-50 mm long. Calyx 3-5 mm long. Stamens 5-7 mm long, exceeding calyx. Flowering time Aug.-Dec.
