Woody suffrutex or perennial herb 0.2-1.5 m tall. Stems ± erect, or spreading to procumbent, arising from woody rootstock, ±4-angled or flattened, often densely appressed silvery strigillose. Stipules 2-8(10) mm long, triangular-acuminate, often with brown scarious margins, falling early. Leaves pinnately (4)5-8-foliolate; leaf axis 18-55(65) mm long, including petiole of 2-10 mm, stipels absent; terminal leaflet 10-36(46) x 6-21 mm, broadly elliptic to obovate, densely appressed strigillose on both surfaces. Raceme 5-30 cm long, including peduncle of 2-13(22) mm; bracts 0.5-2 mm long, ovate-hooded to subulate; pedicels 0.5-1.5 mm long. Calyx 1-3 mm long, densely appressed strigillose, less than 1/3 length of stamens; lobes triangular, equal to twice as long as tube. Stamens 5-8 mm long. Pod (15)18-36(44) x c. 2 mm, spreading to reflexed, cylindrical to ±4-angled, straight or somewhat curved to sharply bent at base, densely strigillose. Seeds 5-12, c. 2 x 1 mm, oblong.
