Characteristics

Perennial suffrutex or woody-based herb, 0.1-1.3 m high; rootstock woody, hirsute or greyish pilose with long subsimple hairs, pearl bodies scattered. Stipules 4-11 mm long, linear-attenuate. Leaves pinnately 9-13(15)-foliolate; petioles 1-4 mm long. Terminal leaflet 2-11 x 1-7 mm, obovate to oblanceolate, softly hyaline, indumentum as above. Inflorescences of 50-260 mm long, densely 30-140-flowered racemes; peduncle 18-70(90) mm long; pedicels 1-3 mm long. Flowers 4.5-6.0 mm long, bright pink. Calyx (2.5)3.0-5.0 mm long, stiffly hirsute; lobes linear-lanceolate to setaceous; standard puberulent dorsally; keel apex acute. Stamens 3.5-4.5(5.5) mm long. Flowering time Dec.-Feb. Pod 11-19 x 2-3 mm, endocarp brown, without tannin dots.
