Woody shrub or suffrutex 0.4-1.5 m tall. Stems ± erect or scandent, ridged or 5-angular, appressed whitish strigose to glabrescent. Stipules 1.5-4(5) mm long, subulate-setaceous, often ± recurved spreading. Leaves pinnately 3-foliolate; leaf axis 6-35 mm long, including petiole of (3)4-23 mm; terminal leaflet 9-43(50) x 4-16(30) mm, ovate-lanceolate or elliptic, glabrescent; strigose or subsericeous above, hairs often weak, unequally biramous, ± coarsely strigose beneath. Raceme densely many-flowered, 1-7(15) cm long, including peduncle of 0.5-15(32) mm, often subsessile; bracts c. 1 mm long, subulate; pedicels 1-1.5 mm long. Calyx 1.5-2.8(3.5) mm long, appressed whitish strigose; lobes subulate to setaceous, ± equal to or much longer than tube. Keel apex rounded to obtuse. Stamens 2.2-3.5 mm long. Pod 10-35 x 1-1.5 mm, reflexed, 4-angled, curving upwards distally away from rachis, often with scattered pearl bodies, ± densely strigose with appressed whitish hairs, valves not twisting on dehiscence. Seeds 6-13, c. 2 x 0.5-0.8 mm, narrowly oblong, ±4-angled, pale brown.
