A much-branched half-woody herb, much resembling I. burttii, but the indumentum is less copious, the flowers are solitary on 1 mm. long pedicels in the axils of 1-foliolate bracts and more or less concealed between their stipules.. The foliage leaves are usually 1-foliolate with a petiole not above 2 mm. long.. Standard light red, glabrous or with a few long hairs.. Ovary glabrous, much shorter than the style, 2-ovulate.. Fruit erect, 2-seeded, 4 mm. long, the endocarp with 4 longitudinal lines opposite grooves in the cuboid seeds.
Can be grown by seedlings. Seeds needs soaking.
