Characteristics

Upright suffrutex or perennial herb 0.1-0.4 m tall. Stems many-branched, arising from a woody rootstock, ± erect or decumbent, sparsely to densely white velutinous or tomentose, with scattered dark setose hairs; ± densely scattered with pearl bodies. Stipules 5-9 mm long, linear-attenuate. Leaves pinnately (9)13-23-foliolate; leaf axis 30-75 mm long, with dense clusters of dark pearl bodies at base of petiole and between leaflets; petiole of 1-5(12) mm, stipels absent; terminal leaflet 8-16 x 3-10 mm, ± broadly elliptic, sparsely to densely appressed pilose or sericeous above, sericeous beneath. Raceme 5-19 cm long, including peduncle of 25-70 mm; bracts 4-8 mm long, linear-lanceolate; pedicels 1-2 mm long. Calyx 5-8 mm long, densely grey-white sericeous, sometimes with dark brown/black setose hairs; lobes lanceolate-attenuate, 2-5 times as long as tube. Corolla pink, back of standard whitish pubescent to sericeous; keel apex obtuse, with narrow band of spreading whitish hairs along distal midline. Stamens 10-13 mm long; anthers with scattered hairs. Pod 18-23 x 2-3 mm, ± spreading, oblong, subcylindrical, whitish velutinous with ± sparse dark brown/black hairs; endocarp densely spotted with tannin vescicles. Seeds 5-6, immature.
