Lax annual or perennial herb to suffrutex 0.2-0.6(1) m tall. Stems ascending, prostrate to 1.2 m long or mat-forming, ± divaricately many-branched, strigose to glabrescent, or ± densely soft-spreading pilose, often scattered with pearl bodies. Stipules 2-4(6) mm long, subulate-filiform, ± spreading to reflexed. Leaves pinnately (5)7-13(15)-foliolate; leaf axis 8-36 mm long, mostly with clusters of dark pearl bodies at base of petiole and between leaflets, petiole of (0.5)1-5 mm, stipels mostly absent; terminal leaflet (2)5-15(24) x 2-8 mm, obovate, 1.2-6 times as long as wide, oblanceolate to narrowly elliptic or linear, glabrous or strigose to pilose above, ± densely appressed strigose to subsericeous or pilose beneath. Raceme 2-11(16) cm long, sparsely 3-20-flowered, equal to 3 or more times length of subtending leaf, peduncle of 7-30 mm; bracts 0.2-2 mm long, lanceolate-subulate; pedicels 0.5-2.5 mm long, slender. Calyx 1-5 mm long, strigose, pilose or subsericeous; lobes lanceolate to subulate, equal to 6 times as long as tube. Corolla pink, magenta or white, back of standard whitish pubescent. Stamens 2-4 mm long. Style 0.5-2.5 mm long, bent to erect in middle. Pod 5-17 x 1.5-2.5 mm, ± spreading, oblong, often slightly falcate, ± constricted at intervals, sparsely to densely strigose or pubescent; endocarp densely spotted with large pale tannin vescicles. Seeds 3-7, 1.6-1.8 x 1-1.2 mm, ± oblong-squarish, rugose, pitted.
