Leaf lamina lanceolate or narrowly oblong, up to 8 × 2·5 cm., obtuse or mucronate at the apex, rounded or subcordate to minutely cordate at the base, glabrous or with some hairs on the midrib above, the margins and veins beneath ciliate; petiole up to 7 mm. long, pubescent.
Corolla tubular-funnel-shaped, distinctly narrowed below, mauve with darker centre or whitish, up to 6 cm. long, the tube sometimes 2 cm. long.
Flowers solitary, axillary; peduncle up to 12 mm. long; pedicels up to 20 mm. long; bracteoles lanceolate, 3·5 mm. long.
Stems several, from a woody rootstock, prostrate, densely clothed with short yellowish spreading hairs.
Narrow funnel-shaped flowers 2-21/2 in. long, pale-or red-purple darker lines and throat.
Capsule globose, glabrous, tipped by persistent style-base.
