Leaf-blade entire, elliptic, 2.6–9.5 cm. long, 1.3–2.6 cm. wide, obtuse or acute at the apex, adpressed pilose above, densely silvery-pilose beneath and with stiff yellowish hairs on the nerves; petiole 6–30 mm. long.. Flowers few in small dense heads; peduncle 2.6–6 cm. long; outer bracts foliaceous up to 20 mm. long.. Sepals elliptic-lanceolate, 6 mm. long, aristate, margins glabrous below, apex hairy.. Corolla white or pale yellow-green, funnel-shaped, about 1.5 cm. long; midpetaline areas hairy.. Capsule globose, 6 mm. diameter, glabrous.. Seeds silky-pubescent.
Ascending or prostrate annual herb, up to 300 mm tall. Young stems with long yellow hairs. Leaf lamina entire, elliptic, oblong or lanceolate to oblanceolate or elliptic-ovate, cuneate, with silvery appressed hairs beneath, discolorous. Sepals aristate. Corolla ± 15 mm long. Flowers white or pale yellow-green.

Main stem branched from the base, with branches ascending or prostrate up to 40 cm. long, often branched again, densely covered with appressed short white hairs and spreading golden-yellow hairs when young as are petioles and peduncles, less densely so when older.
Flowers few in small dense heads; peduncle 2·6–12 cm. long; outer bracts foliaceous up to 20 mm. long, resembling the young leaves; inner bracts smaller.
Sepals subequal, elliptic-lanceolate, about 6 mm. long, aristate, margins glabrous below, apex hairy caudate, accrescent in fruit.
Corolla funnel-shaped, white or pale yellow-green, about 1·5 cm. long, midpetaline areas hairy.
Capsule globose, glabrous.
