A glabrous annual. Stems slender, trailing or twining. Leaves orbicular in outline, 1-2½ (-5) cm diam., digitate, with 5 coarsely and irregularly dentate to pinnatifid segments, the two basal of which sometimes bifid, the central segment larger than the lateral ones, all narrow-oblong to oblanceolate in outline; petiole mostly shorter than the blade, 3-12(-15) mm long, with pseudo-stipules. Inflorescences axillary; peduncles mostly shorter than the leaves, 7-20 mm long, angular or flatten-ned, mostly 1-, sometimes to 3-flowered. Pedicels 8-12(-18), in fruit to 15(-20) mm, erect, also in fruit. Bracts linear-lanceolate, small, ca 3 mm long, very acute. Sepals subequal or the inner ones slightly longer, 6-10 mm long, elliptic or narrow-elliptic or oblong-lanceolate, cuspidate or acute, the back more or less carinate and muricated. Corolla tubular to funnel-shaped, small, 5-6 mm long, white, purple inside at the tube. Stamens and style included. Capsule subglobose, 8-10 mm diam., glabrous. Seeds short-tomentose.
