Leaf lamina oblong or lanceolate-oblong to lanceolate, 2–7 × 0·5–1 cm., usually hastate-truncate or auricled at the base, sometimes some lanceolate from a narrow base or all lanceolate, obtuse, minutely mucronate at the apex, entire to subrepand, hairy or glabrescent; petiole 5–10 mm. long, glabrescent; inflorescences axillary 1–2 flowered; peduncle absent or very short, thinly hairy with rather long hairs as are bracteoles, pedicels and sepals; bracteoles linear-lanceolate, 3–6 mm. long, obtuse or subacute; pedicels up to 10 mm. in fruit.
Annual herb. Stems procumbent or trailing. Leaves with blade oblong to narrowly ovate, 20-60 x 5-20 mm, base hastate-truncate or with toothed auricles, upper surface dark green, glabrescent, lower surface paler, more densely hairy. Flowers: peduncle 1-or 2-flowered, very short or absent; calyx lobes narrowly ovate to linear, apex acuminate; corolla 12-15 mm long, mauve or white; Dec.-Mar. Fruit a globose, hirsute capsule; seeds pubescent, hairs stiff, appressed.

Inflorescence 1-or 2-flowered, sessile or very shortly pedunculate. Sepals lanceolate to linear, acuminate. Corolla 12-15 mm long. Capsule hirsute; seeds with villous tomentum of appressed stiff hairs. Flowers mauve or white.
