Annual herb with prostrate or twining stems up to 1 m. long, pilose with long, spreading, yellowish or silvery hairs.. Leaf-blade ovate, up to 8.7 cm. long and 5 cm. wide, acute at the apex, ± cordate at the base, green but with long adpressed hairs above, silvery-velvety with dense adpressed hairs beneath; veins also pilose; petiole 1.2–7.5 cm. long, pilose.. Flowers in dense heads about 3 cm. wide; peduncle 0.6–4 cm. long; outer bracts foliaceous, up to 3 cm. long and 1 cm. wide; inner bracts narrow, 1.4–1.7 cm. long, 2–4 mm. wide, all with an indumentum similar to that on the leaves.. Sepals unequal, accrescent, the outer 6 mm. long, linear-lanceolate.. Corolla purple or white, funnel-shaped, 1.7–2.4 cm. long.

Corolla funnel-shaped, purple or white, up to 2·8 cm. long; midpetaline areas with long stiffish hairs on the upper part of the limb.
Sepals subequal, accrescent, linear-lanceolate, more or less 6 mm. long, densely clothed with long stiffish yellowish hairs.
Capsule ovoid, glabrous.
