Perennial; stems probably several from a woody rootstock, 0.3 m. long, trailing, densely bristly with long yellow hairs.. Leaf-blade ovate, up to 5 cm. long and 3 cm. wide, ± acute or apiculate at the apex, cordate at the base, covered with somewhat scattered 2 mm. long bristly yellow hairs; petiole 0.5–3 cm. long, densely bristly.. Peduncle 11 mm. long, 1-flowered; bracts ovate, 15 mm. long, 8 mm. wide, bristly; pedicels 5 mm. long.. Outer sepals ovate, 12–14 mm. long, 6.5–8 mm. wide, acute, bristly.. Corolla violet, very narrowly funnel-shaped, 4.5–5 cm. long; tube less than 2 mm. wide just above the base; limb 2 cm. wide at apex.
