Leaf lamina ovate to reniform, 3·5–17·5 × 3·2–17·5 cm., obtuse, apiculate, acuminate or even bilobed at the apex, cordate at the base, sparsely pubescent or glabrous above, finely pubescent or glabrescent beneath; petiole 17–17·5 cm. long, pubescent.
Flowers few to many more or less crowded in cymes; peduncle 3·5–13 cm. long, pubescent; pedicels and secondary peduncles 0·2–2 cm. long, pubescent; bracts linear-lanceolate 1–1·5 cm. long, white, silky appressed pubescent as in the sepals.
Corolla funnel-shaped, white, cream or yellow with a purple centre, 5–8 cm. long; midpetaline areas pubescent or pilose; tube narrowed below.
Stems suberect or twining, up to 6 m. long, pubescent, with leaf scars prominent.
Seeds ovoid, 9 mm. long covered with long golden hairs about 10 mm. long.
Sepals linear-lanceolate to ovate, long, tapering upwards.
Shrub probably with tuberous roots.
Capsule ellipsoid, 1·7–2 cm. long.
