Leaf lamina lanceolate to oblong-ovate in outline, 1·5–3 × 0·4–2 cm.; upper leaves lanceolate, entire or with two small basal lobes; lower and radical leaves 1–2–pinnatifid with the lobes linear 0·5–1·5 × 0·1–0·3 cm., sometimes sparsely dentate, pubescent; petiole 0·2–1·5 cm. long.
Sepals unequal, pubescent, the outer three 6 mm. long, base ovate and coriaceous, often dentate on either side, apex narrow; the two inner ones much shorter, elliptic, hyaline.
Seeds 4–6, small collateral, together forming a sphere, pale brown with dark spots and patches or pubescence.
Corolla very narrowly tubular, pink with dark centre, more or less long, opening in the evening.
Flowers axillary, solitary, subsessile; pedicels up to 3 mm. long.
Stems very slender, trailing, pubescent to glabrescent.
Annual or biennial herb with long slender rhizome.
Capsule globose, glabrous, 6-valved.
