Characteristics

Shrub with suberect or partly twining or scrambling branches to 2.4 m. long, densely covered with grey or yellowish spreading pubescence.. Leaf-blade orbicular, 8.5–13(–23) cm. long, 8.5–11(–25) cm. wide, very obtuse at the apex, cordate and palmately 7-nerved at the base, glabrous or minutely papillate above, finely adpressed silky-pubescent beneath; petiole 5–10 (–16) cm. long.. Flowers several to many in pedunculate branched cymes; bracts broadly ovate-spathulate to orbicular, (1.0–)1.2–1.8 cm. long, (0.4–)0.7–1.3 cm. wide, softly grey-pubescent.. Sepals oblong-spathulate or elliptic, the outer 1–1.8 cm. long and 3–9 mm. wide, broadest near the apex, the inner linear or lanceolate, grey-silky.. Corolla white, cream or yellow with a purple centre, funnel-shaped, 5–7.5 cm. long; midpetaline areas pilose.. Capsule ovoid, 1.3 cm. long, 1.1 cm. wide, glabrous.. Seeds ovoid, 13 mm. long, 6 mm. wide, densely clothed with patent, pale golden hairs about 1 cm. long.
