Leaves ovate-orbicular or broadly cordate, with an open sinus at the base, 4–11 cm. long and wide, obtuse or acuminate, apiculate at the apex, gland-dotted beneath; petiole 5–10.5 cm. long.. Peduncle (1–)3–5-flowered, 2–10.5 cm. long; pedicels 1.3–3.2 cm. long.. Calyx with sepals overlapping to form a loose tube; sepals 9–11 mm. long, about 7 mm. wide, obtuse at the apex, the inner three larger.. Corolla magenta, very narrowly funnel-shaped, the tube very narrow at the base, 3.5–6 cm. long, 2–2.5 mm. in diameter at the base of the tube.. Capsule 1.5 cm. in diameter, the accrescent sepals up to 2.2 cm. long and 1 cm. wide.. Seeds brown, pilose near the hilum, 7–8 mm. long.
