Leaf-blade elliptic-rhomboidal or oblong, 7–15.5 cm. long, 3.5–7 cm. wide, acute and aristate at the apex, narrowed but ± rounded at the base, glabrous above, sparsely adpressed pilose (densely so when very young) beneath; petiole 3 cm. long, bristly-pubescent.. Flowers several in dense cymes; peduncle 9–17 cm. long; bracts 1.9 cm. long, 0.5 cm. wide, spathulate or linear, acuminate; or inflorescences branched and lax with secondary peduncles 0.5–5 cm. long..
