Stem leaves opposite; petiole 0.5-1.5 cm, densely hairy; leaf blade ovate to triangular-ovate, 2-6 × 1.3-4 cm, papery, rugose, adaxially ± densely hairy, abaxially gray, densely hairy, with a brown gland at tooth apex, base obtuse to rounded-cuneate, margin crenate, apex obtuse to slightly acute; lateral veins 3-or 4-paired, oblique, immersed adaxially, elevated abaxially. Cymes 3-9-flowered, remote or compact, in pyramidal panicles 10-24 cm; floral leaves and bracts longer or shorter than cymes; bracteoles minute, linear, ca. 1 mm. Calyx tubular-campanulate, straight or slightly curved, 2.5-3(-4) mm, 10-veined, densely hairy outside; teeth triangular-lanceolate, ca. 1/4 as long as calyx, subequal; fruiting calyx slightly dilated, tubular, base urceolate, slightly curved, glabrescent.
