Leaf-blades elliptic-oblong or with a tendency to be oblanceolate-oblong, 7–25 cm. long, 2.8–9.2 cm. wide, acuminate at the apex, cuneate to rounded at the base, thinly coriaceous, adpressed hairy beneath when young but soon entirely glabrous; lateral nerves 15–17; petioles thick, ± 5 mm. long, rugu-lose, at first pubescent, later glabrous.. Flowers partly borne on older leafless twigs, solitary; pedicels 1.8–4 cm. long, pubescent; bracteoles elliptic, ± 3 mm. long, 2 mm. wide, pubescent..
