Plants 400-550 mm high. Corm globose 18-22 mm diam.; tunics of fibrous layers. Stem simple or with 1 to 3 short branches subtended by pale translucent, deltoid-apiculate bracts 5-6 mm long and long-awned prophylls 7-8 mm long. Leaves mostly 4 or 5, lower 3 or 4 with fully developed blades, firm-textured, ± sword-shaped to lanceolate, reaching to ± middle of stem, (2-)5-10 mm wide, dry at flowering, margins moderately to heavily thickened, sometimes crisped. Spike mostly 6-to 12-flowered; bracts ± opaque-whitish, tinged pink distally, 6-9 mm long, veins slightly darkener distally, outer with a single prominent vein, subacute or with a short apical tooth, inner 2-toothed, 1-2 mm longer than outer. Flowers salver-shaped, spreading horizontally, ± white with pink to purple veins outside, more pronounced with age, yellow in tube and greenish yellow at tepal bases, unscented; perianth tube slender, widening slightly toward mouth, 35-40 mm long, ± 2.5 mm wide at mouth; tepals subequal, spreading at right angles to tube, 18-22 x 6-10 mm. Filaments ± 15 mm long, exserted ± 11 mm; anthers 5-6 mm long. Style dividing opposite upper half of anthers, sometimes up to 6 mm beyond anthers, branches 1.5-2.0 mm long.
