Characteristics

Plants 150-200 mm high. Corm ovoid, ± 8 mm diam.; tunics of fine netted fibres. Stem usually with 1 or 2 short branches. Leaves 2 or 3, lower 1 or 2 basal, narrowly sword-shaped, ± as long as stem, 3-7 mm wide, main vein and margins slightly thickened, pale when dry, upper leaf sheathing lower 1/3-1/2 of stem, with a short free blade. Main spike 3-to 6-flowered, lateral branches 1-to 3-flowered; bracts membranous, translucent, 3.5-5.0 mm long, outer with 3 prominent light brown veins, 3-toothed, teeth attenuate, inner 2-veined and 2-toothed. Flowers salver-shaped, pale to bright pink with yellow throat; perianth tube filiform, 12-15 mm long, flaring in upper 1-2 mm; tepals narrowly ovate, 11-12 x 4.0-4.5 mm, inner three slightly smaller than outer. Filaments inserted at mouth of tube, 3-5 mm long; anthers 4-5 mm long, yellow; pollen yellow. Style dividing between middle of filaments and base of anthers, branches ± 4 mm long.
