Small tree 3.5–10 m. tall; young branches glabrous; older branches covered with greyish-buff corky gnarled bark.. Leaves glabrous; blades drying brown and somewhat discolourous, chartaceous, elliptic, oblong-elliptic or obovate-elliptic, 3.5–11 cm. long, shortly acuminate or less often rounded to acute at apex, obtuse to acute at base, slightly shiny above, 8–11 pairs of lateral nerves, impressed above, tertiary nerves distinctly discolourous beneath; petiole 0.2–1 cm. long; stipule-limb truncate, 2–4 mm. long; lobe subulate, 1–2.5 mm. long.. Corymbs 2.5–4.5 cm. across; peduncle 1.5–3.7 cm. long, glabrous; primary inflorescence-branches 0.4–2.2 cm. long, glabrous; pedicels 0–1 mm. long; inflorescence-supporting leaf-blades elliptic to rotund, 3–5.8 cm. long, 1.1–3.3 cm. wide, rounded or occasionally obtuse at base; petiole 1.5–2 mm. long; bracteoles triangular to subulate, present at the base of calyx-tube.. Calyx glabrous; tube 2 mm. long; limb-tube 0.5 mm. long; lobes triangular to narrowly triangular or somewhat subulate above, 1–1.25 mm. long..
