Shrub or small tree 4.5–16 m. tall; young branches glabrous, older branches covered with fawn slightly shiny gnarled bark.. Leaves glabrous; blades drying green to greyish or bronze-green, coriaceous, oblanceolate to narrowly obovate, oblong-elliptic or occasionally elliptic, 6.5–17.5 cm. long, 2.3–5.6 cm. wide, obtuse or less often acute at apex, acute at base, midrib straw-coloured to fawn when dry, prominent beneath, with ± 12 pairs of lateral nerves, not impressed above, tertiary nerves apparent but not discolourous; petioles 5–8(–12) mm. long; stipule-limbs truncate, 2–4(–5.5) mm. long, often becoming corky; lobe keeled, 1–2 mm. long..
