Small tree or semi-scrambling bush 2–4.5 m. high; young branches glabrous; older branches covered with grey or brownish ± smooth bark.. Leaves glabrous; blades drying greenish grey or brownish grey, chartaceous, elliptic or less often broadly or narrowly elliptic, 6.5–16 cm. long, 2.7–6.2 cm. wide, acute to acuminate at apex, cuneate at base, scarcely shiny above, lateral nerves not impressed above, tertiary nerves obscure or apparent but not discolorous; petioles 0.7–1.1 cm. long; stipule-limbs truncate, 2–3 mm. long; lobes subulate 1–2 mm. long.. Corymbs lax, 5–10.5 cm. across, sessile or rarely with a peduncle up to 3 mm. long; primary inflorescence-branches 0.7–4.3 cm. long, glabrous; pedicels 2–11 mm. long or often with a few on each inflorescence undeveloped, glabrous; inflorescence-supporting leaves undifferentiated; bracts stipule-like; bracteoles small, triangular or triangular below and subulate above, 2 present at the base of each calyx-tube.. Calyx-tube 1–1.25 mm. long, glabrous; limb 0.25–0.5 mm. long, ± truncate, dentate with the teeth shortly triangular, or somewhat irregular, glabrous or minutely puberulous..
