Leaf-blades drying greyish green or bronzish, chartaceous, oblanceolate to narrowly obovate or elliptic, 9.8–23 cm. long, 4–8.5 cm. wide, acute to acuminate, and sometimes shortly apiculate at apex, cuneate at base, glabrous and dull above and beneath; lateral and tertiary nerves raised above, not discolourous; petiole 3–8 mm. long, glabrous; stipules 2–5 mm. long; limb triangular, glabrous outside; lobe subulate, ± 2 mm. long, keeled towards base.. Corymbs sessile (but one pedunculate example seen on the same specimen as sessile ones); primary inflorescence-branches 0.4–2 cm. long, pubescent; pedicels absent or occasionally up to 2 mm. long; inflorescence-supporting leaves equalling or smaller than foliage leaves; bracts stipule-like, tending to be slightly larger than stipules; bracteoles inconspicuous.. Calyx glabrous to puberulous; tube ± 1 mm. long; limb 0.75–1 mm. long, ± truncate, repand or with very short subulate lobes.. Corolla white flushed pink; tube 2.5–3.4 cm. long, ± 1.5 mm. wide at top; lobes oblong, 7–8 mm. long, 3–3.25 mm. wide, obtuse to rounded.. Fruit red, 8–9 mm. wide.. Seed pale rusty brown, 5.5 mm. in diameter.
