Justicia linifolia (Lindau) V.A.W.Graham

Densely tufted small woody shrublets, 0.2-0.4(-0.6) m high. Stems decumbent, with woody rootstock. Leaves sessile, with rasping hairs, linear to narrowly lanceolate, 25-35 x 2-6 mm, apex acute, base cuneate, midrib prominent but side veins obscure. Bracts with glandular and eglandular hairs, similar to leaves but smaller, 10-20 mm long. Bracteoles linear to narrowly lanceolate, ±3 mm long. Calyx as for genus. Corolla with glandular and eglandular hairs, (35-)49-58 mm long (tube and upper lip), pale to bright mauve-pink, rarely white, with 3 or 5 broad longitudinal lines or long dark blotches on lower lip, lower lip 0.25-0.45 times the length of the tube. Stamens with upper locule mucronate or mucro nearly absent, mucro of lower locule forming a short tail; anthers dark purple. Pollen 2-colporate, with 2(3) rows of areoles. Capsule up to 9 mm long.
