Leaves with short to long multicellular hairs, often glandular on margins, or glabrous or puberulous, shape very variable, from narrowly lanceolate to broadly ovate, oblong to obovate, 5-70(-155) x 2-45(-63) mm; petiole 0-32(-67) mm long. Inflorescence of scattered axillary cymes. Bracts foliose, 2-13 x 1-8 mm. Bracteoles 2 per flower, minute. Corolla 6-10(-13) mm long, usually white with or without mauve stripes on palate, occasionally mauve with darker stripes on a white palate. Pollen 2-colporate, 30-48 µm long, sexine areolate. Capsule 4-seeded, glabrous to pubescent, delicate, up to 10 mm long.
