Characteristics

Shrublets with flaccid, decumbent, terete branches, rooting and branching at base to form dense stands. Leaves sessile, oblanceolate, 20-45 x (8-)10-22 mm, cuneate and with clasping base, obtuse or rounded, entire and with pale horny margin, flat, glabrous, pale green to brown, usually glaucous. Inflorescence a round-topped thyrse, often with few-flowered dichasia. Calyx with lobes linear-lanceolate, (4-)5-7 mm long. Corolla yellow to orange; tube elongate-ampullaceous, 10-12 mm long; lobes lanceolate, 5-7 x 2-3 mm. Anthers c. 1 mm long. Squamae oblong-oblanceolate, 3-3.5 mm long. Seeds 1-1.2 mm long.
