Liane or shrub, 2.5–20 m. tall; young branches glabrous or sparsely pubescent.. Leaf-blades narrowly elliptic to oblong-lanceolate, 4–9(–11) cm. long, 1–2.8(–3.2) cm. wide, long-acuminate at apex, obtuse to rounded at base, entirely glabrous or sparsely pubescent beneath and shiny above, often somewhat undulate; lateral nerves in 6–7 main pairs; tertiary nerves rather finely reticulate; domatia present as small hair-lined cavities; petioles 4–8 mm. long, pubescent or sometimes glabrous; stipules triangular at base, abruptly or gradually narrowing to a linear apex, 5–10 mm. long; leaves subtending lateral branches usually absent or not differing in shape.. Flowers 4–5-merous, borne in pedunculate 10–40-flowered cymes; peduncles 2–6 mm. long, sparsely pubescent to pubescent; pedicels 1–4 mm. long, glabrous to sparsely pubescent; bracteoles narrowly ovate, 1–2.5 mm. long.. Calyx-tube 1–1.5 mm. long, glabrous; limb 0.75–1 mm. long, with well-spaced short teeth near top, sometimes ciliate.. Corolla creamy yellow; tube 3–5 mm. long, with a ring of deflexed hairs set at throat and extending to base inside; lobes broadly lanceolate to narrowly ovate, 2.75–3.25 mm. long, 1.5–1.75 mm. wide, acute and thickened at apex.. Anthers fully exserted but seldom reflexing.. Style 7.5–8 mm. long, glabrous; stigmatic knob 1.5–2 mm. long.. Disk pubescent.. Fruit slightly broader than long, 1.1 cm. long, 1.3 mm. wide, somewhat indented at apex and narrowing at base; pyrene broadly ellipsoid with ventral face flattened, 1.1 cm. long, 0.9 cm. wide; area above point of attachment subcircular with a central crest, set at an angle of ± 20° to ventral face.
