Characteristics

Plants with several stems. Leaves 500-700 x 10-15 mm, V-shaped in cross section, tending to fold along midrib, nerves conspicuous in dried specimens; margin minutely and distantly denticulate, keel smooth. Scape subequal to leaves, 500-600 mm tall. Raceme dense, ovoid to subcylindrical, 60-120 x 22-25 mm, tapering to apex in young stage; buds greenish yellow, spreading; flowers yellow, at first spreading, later deflexed. Bracts broadly ovate, obtuse, 4-5 mm long, at first erect and overlapping buds, later deflexed; margin minutely eroso-denticulate. Pedicels 1.5-2.0 mm long. Perianth subcampanulate, 8-9 mm long, 2 mm broad at base, increasing up to 2.5-3.0 mm at mouth; lobes broadly ovate, 1.5-2.0 mm long. Stamens exserted by 2-3 mm at anthesis. Fruit not seen.
