Leaves first erect, later recurved to semispreading, soft; 400-900 x 12-24 mm, deeply keeled; margins and keel conspicuously and regularly serrulate. Flowers: inflorescence subequal to or shorter than leaves, 0.4-0.8 m high, racemes rhomboid-cylindrical to ovoid, basally dense, apically laxer; perianth 25-30 mm long, coral or salmon-coloured to dull orange-red and spreading to pendulous in bud, greenish yellow and pendulous when mature; Jan.-Mar.
