Leaves 9–10(12)-foliolate; leaflets 6–18.5 × 1.2–4 mm, oblanceolate or oblong, falcate, acute at the apex, cuneate, entire or ciliate-denticulate, glabrous or minutely pubescent; basal nerves 3–6; petiole and rhachis together 10–25 mm long; petiolules very short; stipules joined for 3–4 mm, sometimes dense and sheathing on the young shoots, 8–18 × 3.5–6 mm, triangular or lanceolate, acute or acuminate, membranous, pubescent, persistent.
Inflorescences axillary, dense, few–several-flowered, subsessile, c. 10–15(20) mm long; pedicels 3–3.5(5) mm long; bracts 5 × 2 mm, ± ovate, striate, pubescent; bracteoles 5 × 2.5 mm, ovate, pubescent.
Calyx glandular-pubescent, 8–10 mm long, 2-lipped; lips oblong, the upper divided for half its length into 2 acute lobes, the lower divided for two-thirds of its length into 3 lanceolate lobes.
Standard yellow, somewhat hooded, 10.5–14.5 × 4–8 mm, obovate, hairy on midrib outside, otherwise glabrous; wings and keel yellow.
Seeds chestnut-brown, longest dimension c. 2–2.5 mm, trigonous or oblong-reniform, slightly beaked beyond the eccentric hilum.
Stems pubescent when young with tubercular-based hairs; bark becoming fissured and somewhat flaky on the older stems.
Fruit of 1–2 articles; articles 3 × 2.5 mm, rounded, pilose.
Erect subshrub or shrub c. 0.9–1.8 m tall.
