Characteristics

A dwarf undershrub, branched from the base; branches slender, rigid, glabrous; leaves alternate, rather distant, adpressed to the stem, linear-oblong, obtuse, glabrous, about 2 lin. long and 0.16 lin. wide; involucral leaves broadly ovate, acute, 3 lin. long, 1 1/3 lin. wide, puberulous; flowers in terminal heads; calyx-tube 7 lin. long, with long silky hairs below, puberulous or glabrous above; lobes elliptic, obtuse, 1.5 lin. long, 1 lin. wide; petals small; anthers oblong; ovary shortly stalked, ovoid, glabrous; style nearly as long as the calyx-tube.
