Flowers in terminal heads; involucral bracts broadly ovate, acute, puberulous. Hypanthium: tube with long silky hairs below, puberulous or glabrous above; sepals elliptic, obtuse. Petaloid floral outgrowths small. Anthers oblong. Ovary shortly stalked, ovoid, glabrous. Style nearly as long as hypanthium tube. Flowering time Dec.-June.
