Characteristics

Perennial, dwarf shrub or herb, 0.05-1.05 m high, much branched; branches erect, virgate, terete, glabrous. Leaves linear-lanceolate, acute, slightly constricted at base, glabrous. Inflorescences terminal, ovoid, 4-6-flowered; inner bracts broadly ovate, all obtuse and silky outside, concave. Hypanthium rich yellow, narrowly ovoid, upper part cylindrical or only slightly swollen at insertion of lower anthers, silky. Anthers oblong. Ovary oblong, silky especially above. Style filiform, reaching to hypanthium throat. Flowering time July-Dec.
