Leaves terete, pungent, 19-50 mm long; sheath obovate, 9-15 mm long, translucent, the margin finely divided, with long soft fimbriae 6-9 mm long at apex. Inflorescence 6-13-flowered; peduncle slender, 4-15 cm long; outer bracts 5, oblong-obovate, acute, 3-4 mm long, pale with dark brown central stripe; inner bracts subtending a flower, 1.5-2 mm long, white, translucent, fimbriate. Sepals 4-6 mm long, brownish. Petals 5-7 mm long, longer than sepals, green. Stamens ±5 mm long. Ovules 9.
