Characteristics

Stilted tufted herb to 12 cm tall. Leaves slightly decurved, 3-6 mm long, with pungent, hair-like apex 1-1.7 mm long; sheath brown, scarious, 6-9 mm long, the margins divided, apex 3-lobed. Inflorescence 17-27-flowered, the base a solid cone; peduncle expanding above, bottle-shaped, 4-7 mm long; outer bracts numerous, in 3 or 4 series, the lowermost oblong, ±5 mm long, the next 7 mm long, the uppermost linear-oblong, obtuse, 9 mm long, with a central dark brown stripe; inner bracts translucent, finely divided, 5-6 mm long. Flowers white. Sepals 6-8 mm long. Petals cupular, 2.5-4 mm long. Stamens 2-3 mm long. Ovules 9.
