Characteristics

Tufted or stoloniferous herb to 22 cm tall. Leaves erect, linear, pungent, 13-37 mm long; sheath 6-9 mm long, transparent, with finely divided margins. Inflorescence 21-29-flowered, cup-shaped, to 12 mm wide; peduncle erect, 7-22 cm long; outer bracts numerous, obtuse, with light brown median strip, in 3 series, the lowermost obovate, 4-6 mm long, the second 7-9 mm long, ±3 mm wide, the uppermost 9-11 mm long; inner bracts 5-7 mm long, white, the margins finely fimbriate. Flowers white. Sepals 7-8 mm long. Petals cupular, 3-4 mm long. Stamens 2-3 mm long. Ovules 9-12.
