Characteristics

Slender stoloniferous herb to 25 cm tall. Stem 2-5 mm wide. Leaves crowded, linear, pungent, 7-29 mm long; sheath 4-6 mm long, the margins finely divided into wool-like fimbriae. Inflorescence hemispherical, 18-28-flowered; peduncle erect, slender, 5-20 cm long; outer bracts brown, in 2 series, the lowermost obovate, acute, ±2 mm long, the second series narrowly obovate, acute, 4-5 mm long; inner bracts acute, ±2 mm long, brown, with jagged margins. Flowers white. Sepals 4-6 mm long. Petals 4-6 mm long, the apices folded over. Stamens 3-5 mm long. Ovules 15-24.
