Rambling stilted herb, 20 cm tall, to 70 cm wide. Leaves terete, linear, pungent, 7-22 mm long; sheath 7-10 mm long, the margin divided into coarse fimbriae. Inflorescences to 19-flowered; peduncles terete, slender, erect or decurved; outer bracts ovate-oblong, obtuse, 2-3 mm long, red-veined; inner finely divided, 1-2 mm long, translucent. Sepals 3-4 mm long, red-veined. Petals spreading, as long as sepals, white. Stamens ±3 mm long. Ovules 6.
