Shrub 1-3 m. tall, the stems pubescent with slender simple hairs slightly sur-passed by glandular ones; petioles 2-6 cm. long, similarly pubescent; leaf-blades thin, ovate, 1-2 dm. long, 4-15 cm. wide, acuminate, serrulate, broadly rounded to subcordate at base, 7-nerved, hirsutulous above and also sparsely pilose with longer stiff hairs; panicle 6-10 cm. long, its branches eventually greatly elongate, divaricate, and more or less flexuous; flowers commonly 7-merous; hypanthium broadly tubular, 3-3.5 mm. long, densely villosulous with simple hairs and sparsely glandular-hirsutulous, the hairs up to 0.5 mm. long; petals about 3 mm. long; sepals depressed-ovate, 1-1.5 mm. long.
