Characteristics

Perennial herb, with annual shoots from woody rootstock, up to 300 mm high; erect. Leaves trifoliolate; leaflets narrowly obovate to elliptic, not turning black when dried; stipules similar to leaflets in size. Flowers: flowering twigs unbranched; 8 or less per inflorescence; bracts linear to narrowly lanceolate, < 1 mm wide; paired bracteoles 0; standard hairy; corolla yellow; Aug.-Feb. Pods spreading, shortly exserted, elliptic-oblong, glabrescent, 8-10 x 3.0-3.5 mm, few-seeded.
