Characteristics

Shrub, up to 2 m high; branching from apex of deep tap root. Branches ridged, densely strigose, becoming almost glabrous. Leaves up to 80 mm long, imparipinnate. Leaflets alternate, ± linear-oblong; upper surface glabrous; lower surface pubescent. Stipules small, ovate. Inflorescences of 2-5-flowered racemes. Flowers red, purplish when dry. Flowering time Apr.-Dec.? Pod greenish, flushed purplish. Seeds many, black.
