Characteristics

Herba erecta vel adscendens, tantum basi lignosa. Rami angulares, flexuosi, strigosi. Folia 1-1 1/4 poll, longa; petiolis supra sulcatis, inferne strigosis; foliolis 3-5 jugatis, stipitatis, lineari-obovatis, obtusis, mucronulatis, glabrescentibus, subciliatis, frequenter subtus hispido-venosis; stipulis lanceolatis, ciliatis, ad 1 lin. longis. Pedunculi subcompressi, strigosi, racemos 4-floros ad apices ferentes. Pedicelli breves teretes subcernui, strigosi. Bracteae ovatae, amplectantes, glabrae, ciliatae. Bracteolae breves, lineares, ciliolatae. Calyx campanulatum, aeque 5-fidum. Corolla 3-4 lin. longa, apice purpurea, basi albida; vexillo obreniforme, ad basem attenuato; alis et carina obtusis, stipitatis. Ovarium glabrum, stipitatum; ovulis plurimis, biseriatis; stylo curvato, apice barbato. Legumen glabrum, membranaceum, subcom-pressum, ad 10 lin. longum, 5 lin. latum; seminis magnis,paucis aut aliquantis.
