Floral bract 2.8 mm long, 1.2 mm broad, lanceolate, obtuse, densely villous in the middle, short-pubescent above, ciliate in the upper half. Floral bud 8 mm long, glabrous, apex swollen and reddened, surrounded by a tuft of hairs at the base. Perianth tube 4 mm long, glabrous, slightly dilated below. Claw 3.5 mm long, glabrous, slender, recurved 180°. Limb 2 mm long, 0.5 mm broad, narrowly spoon-shaped, concave, hooked, glabrous, reddened. Anther 1.5 mm long, linear, curled upwards. Pollen triangular in polar view with sides somewhat concave 36 µ long, and with somewhat bulbous apices, polar depth 20 µ. Stigma abortive, 1.5 mm long, clavate, entire, acting as a pollen presenter. Style 7 mm Iong, filiform, glabrous. Hypogynous scales 2.8 mm long, acicular, stout, pale yellow. Nectar seen at the apices of the hypogynous scales. Receptacle 9 mm long, 4.5 mm diam., oblong-cylindric. Female inflorescence 1.6 cm long, 1.2 cm diam., ovoid, solitary, terminal, green, with the florets arranged in eight spiral rows of about five in each, giving off a foetid smell. Basal bracts 6 mm long, 5 mm broad, about 15 in number, broadly lanceolate, minutely ciliate, brown and minutely pubescent above. Floral bracts 4 mm long, 5 mm broad, orbicular, thickened and fleshy below, very short-pubescent, minutely ciliate. Floral bud 4.5 mm long, minutely ciliate laterally below, apex reddened. Perianth segments compressed and imbricating forming a tube 4 mm long, glabrous except for a few minute hairs on the lateral segments. Claw 1 mm long, glabrous, recurved 180°. Limb 1 mm long, glabrous. Staminode 0.5 mm long, anterior often absent. Ovary 1 mm long, bilobed, glabrous. Style 4.5 mm long, glabrous, narrowing towards the base. Stigma 0.5 mm broad, terminal or sub-oblique. Hypogynous scales 1.5 mm long, stout, tapering, yellow. Nectar seen exuding copiously from the throat of the perianth tube. Receptacle 1 cm long, 5 mm diam., oblong-cylindric. Mature female head indehiscent, 2.5 ± 0.5 cm long, 2.1 ± 0.3 cm diam., ellipsoid, with the bracts ovate dimpled and thinly pubescent. Fruit 8 mm long, 8-9 mm broad, compressed, winged, emarginate, dark brown, pitted, median ridge not pronounced.
