Tufted dwarf shrub, 0.18-0.30 m high, becoming woody; bases of old scapes subpersistent. Leaves in basal rosettes, linear-spathulate, 10-40 mm long. Inflorescence a laxly branched corymb, spikelets 3-8-flowered; bracts with membranous margins but not becoming white-membranous throughout with age, sheathing, acute or obtuse; branchlets only slightly tuberculate. Flowers with persistent pedicels. Calyx 4 mm long, sparsely hairy on tube between ribs; limb white, obtusely 5-lobed. Petals 5, lilac to pale pink, longer than calyx, oblong-spathulate. Ovary 5-angled; 5 free styles, bent down in bud, later exserted. Flowering time Aug.-Dec.

Broom-like, perennial herb to subshrub, up to 300 mm tall, branches arising from a thick woody tap root, often splitting from base into new clones. Leaves in a basal rosette, ± linear-spathulate, 10-40 mm long. Flowers numerous, inconspicuous, lavender to pale pink, calyx whitish.
Like L. scabrum but older flowers in spikelets pedicellate.
