Characteristics

Perennial herb, mostly 0.3 m high; glabrous. Stipular glands present throughout. Leaves in whorls of 4, uppermost reduced, alternate or opposite, lanceolate to ovate, 8-23 x 3-10 mm. Panicles open. Flowers mostly short-pedicelled. Sepals ovate, acute, margins entire to delicately glandular-toothed. Petals obovate. Stamens 4.5-6.0 mm long, staminodia small. Styles 3.2-5.3 mm long. Fruit broadly ovate, acute. Seeds 2 mm in diam.
