Characteristics

A slender palm. The trunk is rough and 18 m tall. It has a large dense crown. The leaves are folded in an irregular fashion. They have stiff, spreading segments. They are bright green above and bluish-green underneath. The flowering stalk can be 3 m long. The spathe is brown. The fruit are 2.5 cm long. They are green but mature to dark green then black.
